tail gate

had my 2006 4.2 v8 supercharger stood since Christmas had the battery off just put it back on and started fine
but no for some reason the top part of the tail gate opens on it own
could this be a dodgy switch?

Almost certainly, yes. Or the connector between the tailgate and the rest of the car is corroded. It's underneath the roof top extension (the "spoiler" as it's incorrectly termed). 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

I've done a lock and unlock cycle plus put some grease on the latch
seems to of sorted the issue for now (touch wood )

Roof top extension, sounds more like something you need planning permission for from the local council Laughing.

Cheers
