United Kingdom 2010 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Galway Green
Hello and a quick question

Hi,

My name is Craig, I currently own a Discovery 2 TD5 which I've had for the last 10 years and its been a great vehicle.

I am now looking for something more comfortable and I'm looking to purchase a RRS TDV8 3.6.

Silly question, are sunroofs optional on Autobiography models ?

Many thanks

Craig

I don't think there was such a thing as a TDV8 Autobiography, or, if there was it was a fairly short-lived run-out version. The TDV8 was HSE with its own trim level above the other diesel HSE. Sunroofs were optional (my 08MY TDV8 HSE didn't have a sunroof). 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Sunroofs were a optional extra on all variants, including the Autobiography.

Thanks for your replies, its answered my question.

It seems strange that you say there are no TDV8 Autobiograhy RRS's, I only say as I have seen a few for sale and infact the one I'm going to see is one. They all seem to be the last of the 3.6's and are the facelift models, 2010's.

Ask to see the V5/Logbook if it is a genuine Autobiography it will say AB where the model is, not the A at the end that just means Auto.

I had another look and it appears that the last 6 months or so of TDV8 run was available as Autobiography. Not sure what they got over the previous TDV8s, however, as the TDV8 was always well spec'd. Thumbs Up

It's worth remembering that people do modify lesser models by putting the AB front end on them and then call them AB. You'd need to see the V5 to confirm. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

I don't know about the MY10 cars but my A/B has Autobiography Sport embossed in the front headrests, it's also on the front and rear door card trims as well as the door finisher treadplates, in addition to two tone interior which was standard in the A/B although it is a MY13 car. I think some of the MY10 cars maybe be referred to as Autobiography LE as there was originally only going to be a limited number, but L/R decided to continue production and dropped the LE bit.

A few logos isn't a deal breaker, however. It's the added kit is why one would buy an AB over a HSE. At least, for me it would be. The TDV8 had things like adaptive cruise as standard so most of the difference is going to be logos and body kit. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

I'm pointing out some of the obvious noticable differences between a standard HSE and the A/B so the OP has some idea what he's looking at if he is being told it is A/B but actually a old HSE tarted up to look like a A/B as I can't imagine anyone changing trim, door panels etc. to make it look like one, as for the acc personally never use mine as consider it a complete waste of time.

I'm not sure the early move to AB had all of those logos and embossed details. Probably wrong though. Laughing

Adaptive cruise is great if you're in reasonably heavy but freely moving traffic on the motorway for any length of time. It's one of the things I miss about my old TDV8 - the AAC was really handy. I can see how it's not much use in NZ, however. When I've driven there, the roads are basically empty (comparatively) and so adaptive cruise isn't much help. I've just checked in the James Taylor book about the sports, the TDV8 Autobiography's were only made from January 2010. I guess until they ran the 3.6 models out on the sports

Thumbs Up

I'd say a good end of the run TDV8 would be the sweet spot in L320 ownership. Sure, the 5.0SC is a monster, but for the rest of the time when one is just driving around, the V8 diesel just does such a good job. Thumbs Up 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
