New Member - Help Please! Air suspension issues - C1A13-64

Hi Guys

Thank you for allowing me to join. I bought my first RRS 2010 plate 3 weeks ago. I knew there was an issue with the air suspension which resulted in a lower priced car, and I quite enjoy working on these things!

Anyway I purchased SSD/JLR which I must add is great.

The three fault codes I have are -

C1A13-64 - compressor check exhaust valve
C1B00- steering angle sensor
C0063-64 - yaw sensor
U0416-68 Invalid data received - vehicle dynamics control module.

I’m looking on advice regards this as I’ve read LOADS on this forum.

My first port of call was going to be to remove the centre console and replace the YAW sensor however I’m now feeling more inclined to remove the silencer/exhaust from the compressor first?

Just looking for advice really as I’m new to this!

are you getting red or amber dash warnings ? what messages ?

The steering sensor may be fixed with calibration
There maybe 3 yaw sensors? so make sure you are replacing the correct one

Yes, starting with the compressor exhaust is probably a good idea. and induction to landrover ownership!

Hi Andy

Thanks for the prompt reply. Getting amber warning light and traction control light, it comes up saying -

Stability control not available drive with care
Emergency brake assist not available

And sometimes it says “suspension fault”

Car is lower on the passenger side which is weird, however I did a reset on JLR/SDD and the car sat perfect until I went a 3 minute drive and it dropped again

my guess is that the first 2 messages are due to C1B00- steering angle sensor

Hi Andy

I’m not too sure. I know a new steering rack was fitted as I had the old one in my boot, I’m not sure if this needs calibrated or reset? Steering wheel does sit a bit squint and I tried to get tracking done…. This is when this all came to light

Probably worth checking simple things such as battery condition and tightness of the terminals, earth points tight (there are a few dotted around the car), etc.

There is a single yaw sensor under the central console on the floor of the body and two accelerometers (one on the chassis, one in the roof by the cabin light (?).

I'd also check that the ECUs up behind the driver's side of the dash are connected ok - if they've been clumsy and caught a wire that could cause issues. The suspension module is on the base of the A-pillar behind the steering wheel, for example. You can reach it by dropping the panel above the pedals and looking up (or reaching up and feeling). I had a loose wire which caused issues - found it when checking the plug was seated properly and pushed it back in to the connector. Problem solved. Looks like someone had pulled on the harness when taking the plug apart. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Thanks for the replies guys.

Last night I checked the compressor from the underside, it was absolutely caked in dirt and just in general really dirty. I gave it a wee clean however didn’t think this would do much. I recalibrated the height etc via SDD and the car sat perfect, however the compressor does run for a while, is this normal?? I’m thinking of maybe taking the compressor off and servicing it or just replacing it, but don’t want to cost myself a fortune on wrong parts.

From what I can see all wiring appears to be okay!

Trying to tackle one thing at a time, I’ve recalibrated the steering sensor so will see if that is back on later tonight
