Asking previous owner - think they'd reply?

We're the second owner of our car, which we've owned 7 years in May. I'm curious about the car and have the previous owners address on the V5. I intend to write to the name/address and enclose a prepaid envelope if they choose to answer (also giving my contact number). In this day and age, do you think I'd get a reply?. 2006 2.7 TDV6 HSE in Cairns Blue.

If I'd owned the car before I would reply, and be pleased and proud it was still being enjoyed. Barrie.

I once wrote to the previous owner of a motorbike I bought as repairable salvage.

Not only did he reply he was so happy the bike was being repaired by me and put back on the road by my good self to use he sent me x2 spare keys the original sales books, owners manual service book service history every receipt and data tool info.

He also explained the circumstances of the accident which made the insurance company write it off.

Decent chap I sent him a picture of it all fixed and repaired just before I set off to Europe on it.

Hi,

its always worth trying and agree see no reason why they would not reply, I would.

I found a receipt in a FFRR that I was road testing from a dealers once, it was very recent and had the previous owners mobile number on Shocked
gave them a call while out and introduced myself and what was happening, they were very open about why the traded the car in, even the price, the misfuelling just done and some other faults Shocked Censored Shocked

returned from the test drive and said not for me thanks and walked away.

Have also heard that dealers will Remove invoices from previous owners that prove work completed due to "Data protection" Rolling Eyes they could just blank the name out mind.

I would do a Zoopla check on the address first to see if the property has changed hands since you bought the car. Although not totally accurate it may suggest you are wasting your time if it shows the house being sold in that time:

Well this evening I got a telephone call from an American lady who was the previous owner, calling from the Bahamas none the less. We had a quick chat and answered my questions and said how much they (and the dogs) loved the car, travelling around France. They traded it in for a Cayenne. They and the car lived in Chelsea (and still do) buying the car from Stradstones brand new.

So glad I reached out and lucky that they replied. 2006 2.7 TDV6 HSE in Cairns Blue.
