23 inch = even lower profile tyres, hard ride, risk of cracking a wheel when hitting a pothole etc. |

Thanks Mike, food for thought. I have gone for the 23” for looks rather than anything else, so will probably reconsider. |

FWIW I have just taken delivery of a Barasco Grey D300 AB which was a stock car ordered by a dealer with 23" black wheels. Yes the car looked drug dealer stunning but I still changed the wheels for the standard 21" for three reasons. Firstly, we live in a semi rural area with narrow pot holed lanes which have damaged low profile wheels and tyres in the past. Second, the car is a daily driver/long distance business car for me and, as such, I value ride comfort over looks and handling. Third, we do occasionally drive to the Alps for skiing and I know for a fact that getting winter tyres for 23" wheels is both difficult and expensive (my stepson paid £500+ per tyre recently for 23" winter tyres for his Merc GLE and waited 6 weeks for them)

I have winter Nokian wheels with disks 265/50/R20 from my previous L494. I'm in doubt about possibility to install them to my new RR Sport L461.My standard All weather wheels are 285/45/R22 and disks are 9,5J x 22 ET 42,5.

Personally I’d stick with the 23s.. We never use the cars to there full potentials and if off roading was an option then I’d have a second set of wheels with the right tyres on it just for that. The 23s will look nicer and stand out and you’ve brought it for looks over another brand. I roads are crap, pot hole galore but wouldn’t let the council have a say in how to spend you money. I’ve had a vogue with 23s and low profile tyres and it was a dream to look at and tbh with the air suspension being so good ride comfort was great still but I feel it had better handling and less tyres roll if I did need it to get me out of a situation.

Well, I have my delivery date now (12 May) and have finalised my build. I decided to stick with the 23s. Looks over anything else, but thanks for all the replies. |

As @mikef has eluded to, I think wheel sizes (like tyre choice) depends on the type of driving you do, the roads you (mainly) drive on, and the ride you want. What suits one may not tick all the boxes for another. What "looks best" would be some way down my list, but that's just me. Barrie.

I've never bought a car based on how it looks so it's all a bit (lot) bizarre to me. |

I'm more interested in the tread on the tyres than the wheels when I buy a car (never bought a new one anyway). RRS HSE Dynamic SDV6 2014

This YT is an excellent tool for visualising the wheel choices available from new. Shame the 22" 5131's don't appear as Titan Silver and Dark Grey Gloss. Currently they are listed as a retailer fit accessory - rather pricey! Anyway, enjoy |
