2010 L320 - Heated screen not working

My new to me 2010 L320 has the heated windscreen. Very cold this morning so would have been great if it had worked! The screen is not working either side. Checked fuses 15 and 18, both fuses Ok and have power when heated screen is turned on. Light on dash illuminates. No faults displayed.

Any ideas where to look next? Gone: 10MY L320 RR Sport HSE, Ipanema Sand

I don’t have a code reader (yet) so I don’t know I’m afraid. Nothing on the dash. Gone: 10MY L320 RR Sport HSE, Ipanema Sand

Code reader won’t help
Where do u have power ?
With the car off, remove 2 fuses. you could measure resistance between the fuse holder and battery neg terminal.
On the 200R setting.

Should get about 1R on 2 terminals if screen good

Thanks Andy K.

I measured as you suggest and got 3.8 Ohms one side and 5.9 Ohms the other side. Not the same as you suggest but continuity through the screen elements.

Have also researched other threads on this subject that pointed the finger at the relay, so I switched it all on and tapped the relay with a screwdriver handle a couple of times. 90 seconds later the windscreen was clear, all working normally.

So my tentative diagnosis is 'sticky relay' and I'll get a spare and fit it, hopefully this is now "fixed". Gone: 10MY L320 RR Sport HSE, Ipanema Sand

I got in mine this morning, started the engine, the front and rear screen switches illuminated - standard when it's below 4degC. Neither screen started to clear. Turned the engine off, back on again and the switches didn't illuminate automatically. Manually selected both and the screens cleared as normal.

I put it down to a LR gremlin - they turn up now and then to befuddle us. Laughing 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed
