It could be that the element has burnt out. The seat base and the seat back elements are in series so if one fails they both fail. In that age of vehicle, a burnt out element isn't out of the question.

Thanks! Will need some skills to take the seats off and look at the elements. Do you think I can connect the two elements on the seating area on their own if the element of the back seat is the issue? |

If it is a burnt out element, they're not too bad to do. When I had one go, I got the bits and had my indie do the work replacing them. I got a base (mine was cracked for some reason), a new foam pad and the heating element. They just charged me a bit of labour. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
