New Zealand 2013 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Autobiography Santorini Black

Your trims have been colour coded to body colour sometime after it left the factory, from the factory they would have been black the same as the A,B and C posts, hence giving it the range rover "floating roof" look as previously mentioned. New one's from L/R are around £150.00 - £160.00 each.

Cheers

I quite like the lower panels painted body colour but I prefer the "floating roof" look with tinted windows or even the roof all black.
I am considering doing our roof in black, most likely with a wrap rather then paint. I would wrap the A and D pillars at the same time. Jusy my preference though... the OP's rig still looks great.

They look so much better with lower door rims, bumper valances and door handles colour coded.

My TDV8 had been fully colour coded. My SDV6 hasn't. I think on balance I prefer the look without colour coding. Less Chelsea Tractor appearance, for a start, especially if fitted with sensible wheels and tyres (i.e. not 22 inch rims wrapped with rubber bands").

One benefit of not colour coding is that if one needs to replace e.g. a trim from the bottom of a door, you don't need to spend money getting it painted. Also, the bits that aren't colour coded are the bits most likely to get stone chips etc., so it looks like the factory did it that way for a reason. Thumbs Up 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

All a matter of personal choice I guess some want the Boy Racer bling look with 22" rims and rubber bands, others prefer the bog standard factory finish Farmer Giles look with 19" rims and chunky tractor tyres, others want the every thing blacked out drug dealer look.

You're right. Been out in daylight to inspect it, the trims are there and are painted.

I'll put this on the list of 'things to do if I have any money left'. The trims are available on ebay (ex scrappers) for about £35-40 so that's cheap enough. Gone: 10MY L320 RR Sport HSE, Ipanema Sand

Had this car for a week now, been doing some serious cleaning but she's coming up OK. Interior now mostly OK but yet to start on the seats which are pretty grubby / cracked. Job for next week, I'll post some before and after pics for anyone interested.

Finished the engine bay cleaning and detailing last night. Don't have a 'before' pic but imagine 13 years of farmer's track mud and dust Shocked .

Now looks like this. Not perfect by any means but I'm very happy with how it's turned out using a few basic products and some hours of my time.

Very nice.

Make sure the engine cover isn’t rubbing on the radiator hose. Seen one get cut through due to this. May also want to relieve a rib on the hard plastic elbow intake pipe for a better fit. The rib contacts a hose clamp and pushes the elbow at an angle.

Hi @NoExpert, thank you for this tip. Engine cover looks well clear but I can't see this other part on my engine although I've not dismantled anything... I have the 3.0 TD V6.

Is it this bit (arrow)?

Little further right just barely under the engine cover with a kind of crosshatch pattern facing forward (it’s visible in the pic). It’s the hard plastic elbow going into the throttle body. Has a rubber hose on the left going to the intercooler. My picture is of the back on the right side (all this looking at the engine).

This is the same piece as the pic above before modifying it. This was a brand new elbow and had only been installed (forgot to modify it first). You can see the impacts from the hose clamp just getting it in place.

The engine covers seem very hit and miss. I’ve seen four working their way through the hose, one successfully cut the hose and the rest have a larger opening. Not sure if it’s just early 2010’s or what, just figured I’d mention it just in case. My 2011 has the wider opening as well. 2011 RRS HSE Luxury 3.0 TDV6 Fuji White on Ebony/Ivory

That’s one clean engine bay. Did you jet wash it?

No jet wash or hoses used.

Done by hand with cleaning solutions and detailing brushes. Dry clean and vacuum first. Then solution. Then dried off. Then trim detailing fluid. Then polished off. Gone: 10MY L320 RR Sport HSE, Ipanema Sand
