Insurance renewal time again

My insurance is coming up for renewal later this month, how are people finding renewal prices compared to last year? A quick look on the meerkat seems to suggest a bit of a hike? Joined the X5 45e club

I have a multicar policy with 4 cars on it by Lancaster. I've just renewed and it's £10 less than last year. I get a club member discount, which helps.

Shop around is the answer.

I was with Admiral and had been for a couple or years. Got this year's renewal through with a not-insignificant rise in premium. Went online and ended up going with LV with a saving in excess of £200.

Well worth a few minutes on various comparison sites. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

I have had a multi car policy with admiral for a few years. Significant price hike this year. LV was about 40% cheaper for same cover so moved to them.

Had a senior moment, sorry. Post amended.

The initial post was incorrect, as my wife has just informed me, and who am I to argue!

LV cheaper than last year.

My AA policy is due at the end of the month, 11 years NCD, clean licence, 1 no fault claim 4 years ago. Last year £495, this year renewal is £1050

I have done a Meerkat and MoneySupermarket - probably going to AXA at around £500. MY17 RRS 4.4d V8 Autobiography - Aintree Green (also referred to on Topix as British Racing Green)

AA is one of the worst for relying on inertia at renewal. They do it every year on my breakdown cover, resulting in a tedious phone call to bring the price back down to something reasonable.
Dont they and all the others that practice this realise that it just breeds resentment?
I learned very early on in my sales career that's its way cheaper to retain a customer than find a new one.

Hi,

think this post shows just how much difference there is between policies Shocked

I am with AA and the last renewal a month or so ago went from £280 to £330
so had a phone and tinternet search and best I could find was more like £500 Exclamation
NFU who we used a couple of years ago for the same car was £1000

so took the renewal and happy it was reasonable, as said every year should be a "check cost" to make sure your happy

I have renewed today, combined with my defender, it is actually about £20 cheaper than last year. The RRS part has gone up about £20, so I am just over £600 for a defender and RRS, fully comp protected no claims, legal cover and a reasonable £400 excess on the sport.

Thanks to Hannah at A Plan in Thatcham, well worth a try. Joined the X5 45e club

We're with Admiral on the multicar policy. £179 for me, but I'm old and so is the car. £173 for my wife's mini, who is also old. luckily, she won't read this or I'm dead. 2006 2.7 TDV6 HSE in Cairns Blue.
