I found the SGS 2.5 ton jack very good & great price.

Ah yes, SGS. Good tip thanks, they've got a decent reputation. Would certainly do the job I think. Gone: 10MY L320 RR Sport HSE, Ipanema Sand

I have a Halfords 3t trolley jack which I bought several years ago. At the time, it appeared to be identical to the SGS version. It's certainly heavy and built from decent thickness steel.

I see Halfords have a 3t one on sale for £50.

Thumbs Up 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Is the lifting height (43cm) high enough for the RRS (L494)? MY17 RRS 4.4d V8 Autobiography - Aintree Green (also referred to on Topix as British Racing Green)

I don't know about the L494 but it will lift the L320 off the floor using the central lifting point under the engine or using one of the cill locations.

One can, of course, jack under the suspension arm to lift a corner without having to lift the entire suspension travel. It's what most tyre places do, for example. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
