This morning I went to Bristol Airport to collect my wife coming back from a business trip. I ended up waiting in the drop off area for a few moments and as you do people/car watch. What I saw was the amount of people who were impatient of their powered tailgate to open or close. Now none of my fleet are new enough to have this but for those that do have it on any platform, do you find yourself encouraging the function?. 2006 2.7 TDV6 HSE in Cairns Blue.

Given the outright price gouging charges for pick-up/drop off at UK airports, every second counts.

I have the powered tailgate and don't find it that useful compared to the old one. Indeed, I preferred the old split tailgate where one could open the glass panel to gain quick access if required.

I find the powered function to a bit hit and miss - far too often it unlatches and then fails to power open. A second or even third press of the button is required to get it to power open.

It seems to me to be another one of those "because we can" feature rather than "because it's necessary/useful". 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed
