Gap IID tool

I know a lot of people are looking at the moment I've just ordered one from Landyparts for £388 new and including postage. Not seen it for less than £417 anywhere else

Hi,

Is that the Non-bluetooth type, thought you could only get the BT type new now Question

the BT ones are easier to use and hold their value much better as well, but still handy to have.

Yes, that's a non-BT. Needs a laptop computer to hook up to the car. Regards etc.,

Why do you say its non bt? The picture is not the one ordered, if you read the description it states it is bt

Edit. I've just realised it's not the bt version. I prefer a laptop to trying to use a phone anyway

I always keep mine in the glovebox "just in case" when out and about, the downside with a non BT one is you would also need to carry a lapton in the car unless you can actually get a lead to connect it to a phone or tablet. At least with BT one you could connect a phone or tablet in a emergency if needed.

You know it is not.

Excellent rationalization of a less-than-perfect purchase decision. Unless you store a charged laptop in the car anyway. Regards etc.,

No your right i don't store a charged laptop in my car, but not to worry I have one at home where I keep my tools etc. All good and well being able to read codes at the side of the road, but in reality once I have read the codes there is not too much I can do without getting home to my tools or waiting for parts. Yes BT would of been a little more convenient but non BT is fine for me

Sure thing, nobody does coding/CCF edit on the run. Back when I was considering the IID, I was under impression that the computer app is somehow behind in the development, compared to the phone app? Is it still the case?

EDIT: just in case - both IID BT and regular IID have the "integrated interface" option to perform basic tasks using the central dashboard screen and steering wheel controls, so the regular IID can be used away from home (and a laptop) as well. Regards etc.,

So it's arrived today, no laptop needed as there isn't really an interface for it, all the laptop does is control the up down left right buttons, all info is still displayed in the car. I think the benefits of the bt version would be recording data, printing and emailing. Also slightly easier to navigate. I have spent blut 1hr with it today and am already confident I know my way round it though

Great, does it allow changing the car configuration via the dashboard interface? Regards etc.,

Hi,

glad it works well for you Thumbs Up

just so others are aware the BT unit also allows you to select live data values and watch what is happening , (edit comfortably 8. items)
not sure if the none BT does,
just an eg. used mine on next doors FL2 to see which PDC's where working and showing the distances.
