Customer Satisfaction Programme - Security update

I’ve received a letter from JLR about a Customer Satisfaction Programme which sounds like a sort of recall but because it’s not safety related it technically isn’t. They say the dealer will update the software on my car to “increase your vehicle’s security and combat so-called ‘relay attacks’ …”. My dealer couldn’t (or wouldn’t?) tell me anything about this when I booked the car in, so does anyone know what’s involved?

JLR have been continuously working with the Police to counter the most recent theft methods..unfortunately there are devices out there being sold by supposed locksmiths to all and sundry which are highly sophisticated which can access the vehicle and start the engine.
I don’t know what this latest software patch does specifically but whatever it is get it updated! It will not be random but targeted to try and prevent unauthorised access..

I also received one for the Disco 5 so booked in for next week. I've been told it takes about an hour to complete.
