L494 rumbling noise..

My 3.0 L494 has had a rumbling noise that has been getting worse and worse over the last year and it has been looked at by many people and I still have no solution..

It started off as a cyclic rumble under light load, can’t be heard in neutral, goes with RPM and is most noticeable around 1-2k, it’s now developed a dull knocking to go with it over time and that is most noticeable at around 60/70mph. It gets worse when the car is fully hot & some days can be worse than others, sometimes temperature dependant possibly. I have noticed the gear changes under load have seemed pretty poor, so I’ve had it booked into an auto transmission specialist and they can’t seem to find anything wrong with the box on initial inspection.. but I guess that could change.

If I knock the car into neutral the sound disappears & cannot be heard when revving in neutral.

It’s been to a Land Rover “specialist” & they have just been throwing parts at it & hoping, without having a clue.

So I just thought I’d see if anyone on here had any ideas.. I can post a video at some point too

Thank you

Find a different indie or ask on here for recommendations around your area, although you may have to travel for a good one. 2006 2.7 TDV6 HSE in Cairns Blue.
