Is it right what I’ve been told today, Land Rover have made it so only main dealers can update and sign off the online service history of our cars?

Just coming up to my 3 years service and would like to take it to my local trusted LR specialist who I’ve used for 10 plus years.

Indys can logon and update servicing records - Ive had mine done by an Indy

Seriously, we've been able to do it (when Topix decides to work) and u can't see JLR removing the ability to do so without prior notice

indy's with access to the jlr system can update ..

or, you can obtain an invoice form the vat reg garage that has done he work and send it to jlr customer services and they will update their online system......

Or just keep, in a file, the receipts and paperwork from everything done by your indie. That's a service history, not an entry on a computer system that no one other than dealers and selected garages can read when you sell it.  2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Thanks everybody, I should have clarified further it was my local Indy who informed me of this, not a main dealer. Even though they are trying to lure me in with a discounted £444 I just do not trust their care for the car.

Works at an Indy in Herts

Had another call from a different dealership offering their services for my car. They’ve told me there’s also a recall for a security update, is this just dangling a carrot? I was under the impression our cars can receive updates remotely.
