Sound System - downgraded for all

A heads up to everyone with outstanding orders…

All dealers have been told that all orders for the L461 RRS are having their sound systems automatically downloaded to the base ‘Meridian Sound System’. The 3D surround and Signature sound systems are unavailable, regardless of what was specified or standard kit at the time.

No model is protected (including Autobiography and First Edition) but there’s some rumours that they’re offering about $1,000 (!) in the US for impacted customers.

Well that’s a positive step I guess…. I was told to upgrade would add 9-12 months on my order. I ordered with base stereo on July 6th and it’s built and coming 28th October.

I ordered May 12th not had a build date let alone delivery date on a basic 440 dynamic with head up display option only, no other options to warrant delays.

I am disappointed as I’ve seen many on the roads in the last couple of weeks and new ones on trailers and forecourts it’s to late to change dealership now but feel I may have ordered from the wrong one and I’m not important to them

In the same boat, I have the standard sound system on mine and yet it was unslotted 2 weeks ago even though it was due to be built and delivered this month. My salesperson is going to get in touch next week will be interested to see what they say now.

It’s all strange, my p440e is se dynamic is basic build only privacy as ventilated seats, ordered 6/7 now built and delivery end of the month. Maybe the HUD uses a chip they cannot get hold of.

So, what is the downgraded system? I have first edition on order. Will this mean an inferior system to my current AB??

Standard Meridian 400w system I guess.

Correct it’s a 400W system.

The L494 AB features an 800W system as standard.

I emailed my salesman a few days ago asking whether deleting Surround Sound and 360deg cameras from my spec would improve the delivery time for my 440e and he replied saying absolutely not

Do you know when this message to dealers went out?

I was told it would add 9-12 months if I want to upgrade the stereo.

As for cameras, surround cameras are standard.
