I regularly drive to the mountains, which is 400km trip. Diesel is a no-brainer for me.

Haha...I suspect prices will increase significantly, but remember many of the largest oil consumers are making little moves to electric, so there will always be demand. But in reality, with a significant collection of petrol powered cars, i'll happily be buying petrol for my lifetime, even if we see £5 a litre!! currently running a p400e and i love it, most journeys on EV only as they are short, If you can plug it in then 100% go for it, if you can’t then save the money and go for Petrol. Tesla Model Y - 2023

With the price of electricity now, is there any financial benefit to running on electricity instead of diesel? At 50p plus per kWh it doesn't save anything over diesel. On the other hand it does seem to give flexibility and future proofing.

Being a petrol head all my adult life Electric power is not for me , unless our Government stick relentlessly with this net zero which is now causing serious Energy problems here in the Uk. My view is buy what you most like. |
