Hi All,

Had an order placed for a FF P440e PHEV - having had a FF D350 for demo, my wife and I quickly concluded the FF is just too big for our requirements and general driving around where we live. Also for a large car, and as expected, the handling around bends wasn’t great.

The car itself it awesome but sadly just not for us…and in the show room, what do we see - the first physical new RRS we have seen - in Firenze red - order changed to a Firenze Red Dynamic SE P440PHEV RRS.

Now the painful wait begins.

Note you have changed from hybrid e440 to P440 PHEV.— have I got that correct?

Sorry, my poor use the model designation. Had ordered the same P440e PHEV plug-in hybrid in the Full Fat - ordering the same engine in the RRS.

Currently have the 3.0Diesel in my wife’s MY16 RRS and suffer form the oil dilution issue - the PHEV works out the best engine for our type of journeys.

Incidentally take your point on the previous RRS Diesel regarding oil dilution issues .
However have been informed that the new 300 D engine has been greatly improved from this problem .
Would like to hear from other members regarding this — as for one I am seriously considering going Diesel again.

The D350 felt sublime and punchy in the new FF. Can imagine the D300 being great too.

My feeling on Firenze is that the colour looks much better under showroom lighting than in daylight. I'd suggest looking at the colour outside before ordering. Tim
RRS sold and replaced with a Skoda Kodiaq after appalling RR Dealer experience and LR inability to supply new cars in any sort of reasonable time frame..

I agree, showrooms do have an odd way of making colours look a lot better than they actually do in the cold light of day.

Thanks both for the word of caution - will ensure I see it outside before build confirmed.

Maybe also a harder colour to sell.

My (personal) thoughts on Firenze:

The colour has been in the LR portfolio for at least 10 years.

Friends have an Evoque (2015) in Firenze and generally in all weathers it look fantastic, but in my opinion only because they have the black pillars and roof. It even looks good when dirty. Also they are not avid valeters (quite the opposite) and the 7 year old paint still looks fresh.

However I do feel with any red car the colour hides the rear light cluster and brake lights (more susceptible to being rear ended in bright sun light?)

Without a black roof Red can look a bit "Fire Engine"

Finally I am lead to believe Red is not as popular 2nd hand as the boring standard LR fifty shades of grey so may affect future values.

Thanks RRT. All useful points and would be good to try and new colour. One of the benefits of waiting… there aren’t many… is seeing the colours that come through. Most likely will change colour.

It’s obviously all personal opinion but I loved Firenze red, not colour better when the sun catches it. Highly underrated in my opinion.

It will be the colour of choice if I can justify spec’ing it. Currently I’ve chosen white and used the £900 elsewhere.
