RR SPORT ELECTRIC WINDOWS

RR SPORT. 2007. L320.

The windows are giving me a problem. The driver's master switch doesn't operate any of the windows. The only switch that works full-time is the front passenger. Very occasionally, the master and individual switches will work but only after the car has run for a short while, certainly not immediately after starting. We've had no rain recently but I've checked anyway - the switches are bone dry. With the driver's door card off, I can shunt across the terminals to make the windows work.

Thinking of trying a replacement switch.

Any suggestions?

usually its the wiring to the door (where it hinges)
and they work with the door open.

But if you bypass the switch and it works, then I think you have proved its the switch

window switch part numbers at the end of this thread

Andy K, thanks for the tip. Bought a new (ebay cheap deal) switch but it didn't work. Eventually tried pushing/pulling the buttons and got 3 windows working on the original switch, n/s rear not. Removed the door card, disconnected its individual switch, re-plugged it and the window then worked. 2 days later, all windows are still working. Don't know if there's an ECU for the windows but - with all windows closed - pulling up all 4 buttons on the master switch might have been the answer. Hope you don't need it but this might be worth a try if you get into the same situation.
