I bought the same unit a couple of months ago and fitted it myself in just over an hour.

Indeed the install took an hour but my fussy nature wrapping wires and being very tidy it was an 1hr45m. The interface box ended up in the glovebox, there no way it would fit in the kick panel. The 3.5mm aux cable they sent was too short and should be a 90 degree, I’ll sort this out today. Otherwise very pleased and only one very small nick on my hand. Man it’s sharp in there!!! 2018 Telsa MS

How did you get access to the torx bolts holding in the air vents and screen without removing the HVAC panel? |

Mine was on a 2016, which had the original touch screen (with the menu buttons on the left and right sides, not at the bottom). This meant that all I needed to do was pull off the centre dash panel (around the screen to passenger side) and undo the left hand button module (2 screws), the right hand button module (2 screws) and then move the button modules out the way so I could then access the 4 screws holding the screen in.

Ive been after one of these for a while, but I can only find them at over £500? All other models seem to have them for £200-£300 am I missing something, or is the bosch 7" a nightmare?

That seems to be the going price for the IdCore unit, honestly it was a breeze to install and works a dream. Wireless CarPlay connection, works every time. 2018 Telsa MS
