SVR Towbar question

I have a 22 RRS SVR, unfortunately i didnt spec the tow bar Banging Head and have been quoted 3k for the dealer to fit one.

Has anyone else had one fitted? Aftermarket, dealer fit?

I have heard you loose the rear diffuser with the dealer fit one, something i am not overly keen on!

Im happy for an aftermarket removable one to be fitted but looking for opinions, advise etc.

Any help much appreciated.

That is an absurd price, if you are able to install it yourself you will save half. The towbar piece itself is roughly $1,400 new. The rear diffuser piece is about $250. You will then need to have the dealer enable tow electronics. 2020 SVR / R.I.P. 2019 SVR / 2016 D4 Landmark / 2005 D3 HSE

Hi, I’ve had a aftermarket tow bar fitted to my 2021 SVR. All you have to do is remove the rear diffuser when your using it, I use a 20 pence piece to do it. It was fitteded at North West Towbar in Stockport, cost £550. The only thing you don’t get is the reverse sensor delete when reversing, which I can live with for how much towing I do. Great for a bike rack also !!!
Hope this helps 👍

Thanks, is it a removable one? Sounds perfect i'm not keen on loosing the rear diffuser. Do you have any links or photos?

So i have done a bit of research online as well as looking at my car.

The rear diffuser part removes in about 10 seconds (the tow eye socket is behind it anyway)

All the electrics are there ready to be plugged in.

Westfalia do a detachable kit that can be fitted and coded to the car, (my chosen dealer does them for the local landrover dealership) all you need to do is remove the diffuser each time you want to use it. Perfect for me as it won't ruin the look of the car and is completely hidden when not in use!

I will be visiting the dealer to discuss fitting on Saturday as they are also a caravan dealer and we are going up to finalise my new caravan order.

Once fitted i will upload photos or a video to show you all.
