Evening all, I've just had my front and rear discs and pads changed and its threw a strange problem on the fitment of the rears. When the grub screw is tightened the disc then sits totally flush tight against the hub or housing holding the parking shoes. The discs seem to have the same recess on the rear for the lip like my old discs so I can't understand what's causing this.
Any ideas on how to rectify this.
All advice warmly welcomed.

A little confused here, are you saying your new discs will not fit flush to the hub.

Too flush. On the shoe housing, once the disc is off, there's a fixed backing plate to the hub/axle with a small 3 to 4 mm lip all the way round. With these new ones fitted and grub screw in place, the discs hit this lip. I'm think g of just getting a grinder out and shave the lip down a tad. Atm, the disc won't freely rotate.

If there was no problem with the original disc's fitted I would suspect you have a set badly machined set of disc's or the wrong one's. If they are the correct one's you should not need to start grinding parts off the car to make them fit, personally I would be inclined to return them to the supplier and tell them they will not fit correctly.

So, supplier reckons they've had no previous problems selling these kits. Can anyone confirm if when fitting the discs that once on the car the lip from hub back plate sits inside a recess on the disc. Or does the disc sit over and outside of that lip. If you know what I mean.?

Yes. The raised section of the backplate sits inside a groove on the rear disc

That's what I thought, thanks. The current recess is not deep enough so even when the disc grub screw is fitted the disc is hitting the lip and of course will not turn. I wonder if its because I bought a kit that was for brembo front and rear, although I thought all rears were the same anyway. 🤔

L/R never fitted Brembo's to the rear of the Sport the calipers are TRW, although you can buy aftermarket brembo discs and pads. I'm still inclined to think you have a bad set of discs, out of interest what diameter are the discs? as I think they should be 350mm.

Compare like for like measurements on old to new, then you will know if its the disc Range Rover Sport (gone): Mercedes S63 AMG Coupe: 992 Porsche Carrera 4S: Range Rover Fifty P400e

Unfortunately old discs were discarded the night before the new ones were fitted. I'm sure they are the same diameter at least because they fit the caliper perfectly.
