GAP IIDTOOL

Hi folks,
Ok I’m trying to convince she who must be obeyed the benefits of me purchasing a GAP IIDTOOL i currently have an icarsoft v2.0 unit.Obviously she is worried that it will impact her ability to with blitzkrieg precision to continue filling her wardrobe Rolling with laughter
I would like to gauge on how others consider this item for there ownership of a Land Rover ,Range Rover personally I think every Range Rover should have a nice designed compartment in the car where the GAP TOOL goes and a GAP TOOL should come bundled with the car lol.
I think I’m breaking her will just need to get some new ideas to weave into my sales pitch 😂 I keep telling her it’s not a Toyota lol she just looks bewildered even though i am a keen follower of LR TIME on YouTube and she does sometimes show an interest Laughing

If you purchase a used one (when they come up for sale, don’t forget the sister sites) you’ve saved cash by not buying new. Equally when you choose to pass it on, you’ll get your money back. Mines kept in its little foam box in the upper glove box, fits just nicely. Again with any faults you can read the codes (garage charge saved) and tailor the car by switching settings on or off. It’s a no brainer and makes financial sense. 2006 2.7 TDV6 HSE in Cairns Blue.

I too have been considering buying a Gap tool although she won't know if I do or not Rolling with laughter

As I'm not very technically minded can I check a few of the things I'd hope it would do and maybe be corrected if need be.

On my 2010 3ltr V6 it would :
Read codes,
clear codes (once repair done if needed)
Reset service lights
Calibrate suspension ( can it adjust ride height when I change my summer 22" wheels to winter 20"s Question
Give access to many other functions of which I'll likely not understand Whistle

On other none JLR family cars (nissan & Suzuki)
read codes/clear codes
reset service lights

Thanks

They are Vin locked and as far as I understand Land Rover Specific.. (dont rely on my limited knowledge on that part)
You can certainly do all the things you mention on the Range Rover... you can change the suspension settings.. have a search on PowerfulUK they have a video on doing it...
I purchased a used one from the UK, shipped it to Australia, paid to have the ownership changed over and it was still plenty cheaper than buying new.. and has saved me the initial purchase price in less than 6 months.

I don't think they will do anything on cars that aren't landrover

They only work on landrover, the basic functions are very good I unlocked mine to my 4.2 recently havnt found anything I need to use in advanced mode yet. But I'm sure I will . I unlocked it for my mates D3 so we could programe new keys for his car.
