I was thinking along the same lines myself. But so rarely can I get the Traffic Information to work, I don't suppose it will make much difference to me. |

I wouldn't be surprised to see a 4g/3g device - a 4g side that talks to the infrastructure and then a 3g side that talks to the car. There's likely to be a lot of cars around with this problem. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Er and you can get a 2G service? I have a number of 2G devices and they just don't work where I live due to no 2G on the masts. Been that way a couple of years and a bloody pain it is too |

In my area Vodafone is useless, I'm about 6 miles from a very large town and yet struggle for a mobile signal in my village (hardly a hamlet, over 6,000 residents).

You don't need the SIM for the Incontrol remote services, so you can still lock it and communicate with it but you will need it for for the Nav, weather and traffic etc.

Remote still has to use a SIM, but is the internal SIM I presume.

Hopefully it's just a change of module and an update as the car is absolutely fine running off any wifi connection. |
