Having been away from JLR for 18 months, the new RRS could tempt us back.

I am looking forward to seeing it on the 10th May, but guess I will have to wait at least a year to get one from then.

My local dealer where I bought the L494 AB hasn't exactly been chasing me to come back! I borrowed a 110 Defender at the time and said contact me when you have a 90 to look at. We are still waiting!!

Looking forward to being back on this forum as it was always fun and useful. MY16 3.0 SDV6 Autobiography in Aleutian silver, stealth pack and toys.

I was quoted 3 years for a new RR. Unless you are an absolute brand loyalist or an influencer, I don’t think mere mortals will be able to get into a new RRS for at least 3 years

Disco_Mikey, thanks for the image. Have you seen any pictures of the back? Is it like the L494 or more like the new Range rover? MY16 3.0 SDV6 Autobiography in Aleutian silver, stealth pack and toys.

Front end looks more bulbous compared to the L494, perhaps the blue color isn't helping 2020 SVR / R.I.P. 2019 SVR / 2016 D4 Landmark / 2005 D3 HSE

Side view looks very similar indeed. Obviously all new underneath and pivi pro so I am very interested. We loved our one and it never missed a beat in 5 years. MY16 3.0 SDV6 Autobiography in Aleutian silver, stealth pack and toys.

The front looks unmistakably RRS, but the rear end is just too bland and generic --

just had a look at the UK site: the two base models (SE & SE Dynamic) don't get rear-sheel steering, only Autobigraphy and First Edition get it. --

Lots of show, very little go in terms of the reveal. Looked great, didn't give any information.

Looking at the configurator, it appears that things like low range, locking rear diff, etc., are limited to certain models. Low range is an option on the others. Shame as that's a down-spec compared to the L494. Admittedly, most people probably won't even notice but it means more work for those of us looking in the for sale ads in a few years time if we want to have a fully capable vehicle. I note 4 wheel steering is only on the mad-fast versions, but I guess they have to give the Full Fat something over the Sport. Laughing

So far for me it's a "yeah, so what" new version. Styling is a bit mixed up too, I think. And the worst thing is that they've kept the pointless fake bonnet vents from the L494. Really? What's the point? They bring nothing to the design.

I'm sure it'll be a great vehicle to drive and live with for most people, and that's LR's target of course, but it seems like a slight watering down to a grumpy bloke like me. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed
