Sticking Injectors

Hey folks

Covid had me sat with my beauty on the drive for 18 months causing a whole host of problems, most of which have been sorted.

The one that hasn't is a couple of sticking injectors. Dealer has quoted stupid money but I see them on ebay, new, for a fraction of the cost, and wonder if I could buy them and do them or buy them and get someone else to do them?

Or can I get them re-conditioned, or any other suggestions?

Issue it gives me is it stutters when I start it when warm and white fuel smoke comes out. Once it's driven a few miles it's fine. I just don't like the juddering, not when she has behaved so perfectly for 10 years without missing a beat Sad

West Midlands based, anything you can offer to help will be much obliged.

Many thanks

First, try a bottle of injector cleaner in the tank and see if that works.

LiquiMoly & Bosch are good brands to use.

maybe it's just some carbon deposit on the tips, and the cleaner can get rid of it. --

Thanks Naks

I've ordered the Liqui Moly.

I've been using an additive to no avail but I'll give this one a go to see how it gets on.

Will let you know.

Thanks

If it's otherwise sorted, why not just get the injectors and get it running properly?

You mention a dealer - are you using an LR main dealership for work? If so, find a decent indie and save a wedge of cash that way. Dealers are f'king expensive for no added benefit. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

That was my basis for the thread. Should I get them sorted or can I fix them?

The LR indie wants £1000 each to fix them Rolling Eyes

Official LR, well I hate to ask.

Ebay are sub £300 each but I'm not an expect with mechanics and the other idea that was floated to me was get them refurbished.

Question
