No real difference between 21 and 22 to be honest , been running 22s for 4 years now on our L494 and apart from a simple puncture repair a couple of weeks back no issues - ride quality fine on the Pirelli silent tyres |

If your regular roads are a bit crap and/or you do a bit of off-roading, then I'd highly recommend you stick with 20".

I swapped from 21s to 22s and honestly can’t feel the differed in ride quality. |

I can't comment on 20s or 21s as I have 22s. My comment about 22s is they are far to easy to kerb and on one occassion I had to mount a kerb at around 60-80 degrees to road and was surprised to "pinch" the tyre sufficiently to have the alloy rim slightly dented by the kerb.
