On starting my 2014 HSE Dynamic from cold last Friday, I immediately got a yellow warning triangle and a ‘restricted performance’ message, although the performance wasn’t greatly restricted. The fault is intermittent - it doesn’t appear when I restart the car when the engine is warm. Had Land Rover assistance out yesterday (the AA actually turned up) and found the following : Engine control - 7M9 / Diesel EDC 17CP11.2 Status :P242A - Exhaust gas temperature sensor (bank 1, sensor 3). Error Message : Malfunction. Error sporadic.suspect temp sensor at fault. The car is three weeks out of manufacturer’s warranty, but I have bought a LR extended warranty; however that excludes exhaust systems. Any thoughts on whether this sensor would be considered part of the exhaust system?
