England 2008 Range Rover Sport Supercharged HST Santorini Black
Defecting from Disco4.co.uk.

After being a Discovery owner for over 20 years I am thinking of defecting and buying a RRS. My budget will just about get me a 17/67 plate. Due to my daughter catching Covid I am not able to view any at the moment so it's only surfing the net for one.

I have found one meeting my colour criteria (inside and out) but have a few questions please:

It has no towbar, so how easy is it to have one fitted and approx cost.

It is a seven seater so what space does the 3rd row take i.e. is that where a full size spare wheel goes or extra storage.

Will come up with plenty more questions at some stage.

Thanks 2008 Black Range Rover Sports HST, 4.2 Supercharged.

Hi,

you can fit a removable or electric towbar have a search for towbars and you should find a few posts of mine and Andy "Tyrefitter" with plenty of pics, pics in my gallery as well.

although Question

no idea how the 7 seat option affects the fitting.

I did it and have no regrets at all. The only downside is the space compared to a disco, you really have to think about how to get stuff in, in my disco, I could easily get 3 full sets of dive gear in the back, with the Sport it is pretty full with 2 sets. As long as you can accept the space then they are brilliant cars. Joined the X5 45e club

I've just had a detachable tow bar fitted to my RRS, the sort that means I don't have a hole in the rear valance, I do have to remove the valance to fit the hook, but I prefer that as it's not used much.
The cost was £550 all in and it was done by a chap in Wigan. A Cheshire expat in France.

My 7 seat has no spare wheel and no storage for one.

The other problem with 7 seats is that the middle row does not fold down flat they just move forward and the back tips forward slightly.

Regarding the 7 seats - the middle seats do fold down if you use the lever at the bottom of the seat not the one at the top used for rear access. In terms of space in the 3rd row my 6 year old is fine sitting there by it’s too small for my 13 year old. MY2022 HSE Silver D300 in Firenze Red with black contrast roof
