If the vehicle has been damaged, or has been put together to make it look like something else, it might not have been put together properly. If it is supposed to have adaptive cruise control, then the radar may not be present, or it's not aligned correctly, or it was damaged and not replaced. The sensor was not a cheap part back in the day although the bay of thieves may have cheap second hand units these days. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

If it is a RRS1 pre-facelift with the A/B facelift front fitted I'm sure there is a new mounting bracket required to reposition the Radar unit to suit the new bumper, might be worth checking to see if that has been fitted.
