Is my intercooler to blame?

I have a leak of some sort on the top of the engine which is covering the intercooler pipes in an oil of some sort.

The LHS pipe is the worst affected, and is actually changing colour. Both intercooler pipes were replaced in July this year, as the LHS one split.

I’ve added the pictures to show what appears to be oil deposits between the main radiator and the intercooler.

There are no codes, no performance issues, and no signs of excessive smike on acceleration.

Thanks folks.

How do know if the knocking at the front has been sorted?

You can hear the knocking at the rear better

I would have thought if the intercooler was leaking you would suffer from a lack of power and a bit smoke and maybe a black oily sludge where the leak was. Looking at the pics, it actually looks as if the hose itself is sweating, and changing to a darker Colour,,, I also see they are Britpart hoses.
Are they supposed to be silicon.??,,,,, was the top of the intercooler cleaned before the new hoses were fitted.???,,,, are the new hoses brittle in any way ???.

These hoses get quite hot and yours seem to be suffering because of it,, I would be tempted to clean everything up keep an eye on it to see what happens,, try getting the engine hot and give the hoses a quick wipe and see if the " sweating " returns straight away. if it persists I would be tempted to change the hoses,,, for a different make. 2010 RRS, TDV8

Gogsy

Funnily enough, the “sweating” you describe does seem to be what is happening!

The hoses are Britpart bought from AF Factors a site sponsor, and should be silicon.

No they are not brittle, and as I said earlier, I only fitted them in July. i only cleaned the e top of the pipe fitment, not the rest of the intercooler.
