Anyone know where this hose goes please?

Hi all,
Was underneath my 07 RRS yesterday replacing the fuel tank cradle and noticed this hose roaming wild and free. It’s above and next to the rear diff and the rear diff appears to have a nipple on top which I suspect may be
the breather it is supposed to be attached to? Any advice greatly received. Photos aren’t great can take more if needed?
Thanks.

It does appear to be the rear diff breather pipe. It should run up alongside the fuel filler tube and terminate up near the fuel filler flap area.

It would be worth blowing it through to make sure it isn't blocked - it might have come off because of that, or it's been removed by a spanner monkey and not reconnected. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Look like the rubber sleeve that fits over the nipple is split and perished which could also account for it coming off, the actual nipple doesn't look to healthy either.

Cheers

Thanks guys. All makes sense. I shall clean it all up and improvise with a new bit of rubber hosing. Appreciate your input.

Might be wise to change the diff oil too. Water may have got in where the breather hose fell off.
