Apple carplay RRS 2017

Looking at a 2017 RRS, facelift model, wider navi screen? Is carplay standard or easy to activate? Many thanks. Gone:
2010 Bali Blue, Reverse Camera, Winter Pack, Privacy Windows, Sunroof, Steel Tread Plates.

You have to verify first if the telematics module is present. This can be done by checking if there is a SIM card slot next to the 2 USB connections in the center cubby.

I called the dealer who told me first that it wasn’t possible, then secondly it would cost £200. In the end I did it myself, it takes a while to download and install but worked without a hitch.

Do a software update and it will install itself, assuming you the appropriate age car. 2023 P440e SE Dynamic on order -cancelled

2022 HSE Dynamic P400e

This.

I parked the car on the drive, connected to my home wifi, then just went through the software update process. Engine must be on the whole time. it downloads, then installs. It took about an hour for the whole thing, and the install looks like it's not doing anything as there's no spinny wheel or anything, then it just popped up with install complete, complete with CarPlay

Do you know if this is available for the MY2016 builds?

I have a SIM card slot next to the diagnostics port and the dual USB in the fridge compartment..

Also remember that the VIN has to be enabled by the dealer to receive over the air updates.
This is necessary fro cars built before OTA was rolled out.

Check your infotainment system has an option for OTA. 2023 P440e SE Dynamic on order -cancelled

Mine has the later InControl pro system, no buttons down the sides, it has 2 usb slots, an HDMI slot (why?) and a micro sim slot in the cubby if that helps. Go to settings, scroll down to software updates and see what’s there.
