Hi all

I live in Iceland and the cars here don't come with Carplay/Android Auto for some reason. I asked the dealer if it could be updated to include it, he spoke with his tech and told me it wasn't possible.

I'm sure he's right, but wanted to double check if there's any way to add it, or what the reason for not being able to may be.

I think there must be a way to do it as I'm in conversation with a company in Sittingbourne who intend inserting someting and hijacking the existing screen to provide carplay and auto.

The annoying thing, for me, is that the 2020 model has Carplay in most markets, just not here in Iceland

The poster has a 2020 not 2010.

As I understand it, its a bit of stand alone hardware and software that uses the existing screen but leaves all other LR functions alone so I doubt the year is relevant but I'll post further details when they're to hand. 2009 RRS 3.0 TDV6 SP HSE

The OP has a 2020 car that normally has CarPlay built in for the UK market.
However outside of the UK it is not always included. The way to tell is as I described above.

A 2010 car predates iPhones and so you need one of the non LR add on units. 2023 P440e SE Dynamic on order -cancelled

I haven’t bought the car yet, but was able to get the build specs from the dealer today.

All items relating to InControl/Telematics are removed from cars for our market, it seems (it includes 025QD - LESS Telematics TCU Module).

Not sure why, but that seems to happen for a lot of the markets outside of the UK.  2023 P440e SE Dynamic on order -cancelled
