Disco_mikey isn't saying the SDV6 doesn't have a belt - he said it has a belt and a chain.

Your vendor is trying to persuade you that he doesn't need to spend money on changing the 2 age/mileage dependant belts on the car. One belt on the front; the cambelt (as has been said connects the crank to the cams and hence the timing), and the timed High Pressure Fuel pump belt at the back of the engine which supplies the high pressure fuel to the common rail. I have never read anywhere that the chains connecting the cam sprockets are serviceable items. The fact of the matter is that the 2 belts need changing before you buy it and the seller either has it done before you buy it or he reduces his asking price to cover you having it done. You must decide if the vendor doesn't know this, or if he/she is lying to you. |

Thanks a lot guys. Dropped that car, did not look great, will be getting at 2014 Causeway Grey Autobiography with 66,000 km, excellent state, and dealer will replace the 2 belts. Gone:
