I'm not sure as I don't have it on mine, but I think it's parking sensors on or off. Barrie.

That's the one. Same light confused me after I reset all the ECUs and it got turned on.. previous owner must have turned it off so I'd never seen it before

You can turn it off in the setup menu via the steering wheel if I remember right, personally I think it's another waste of time feature.

In the old days (the original RRS before they did the facelift), there was a simple button on the dashboard to turn forward alert on or off.

I'm not sure but I think we can blame Tesla for that one.. I assume it was cheaper to stick a giant iPad in the centre console than it was to have physical buttons, but people thought it looked futuristic so other manufacturers followed suit; and now you can't even change the heater settings without scrolling through eight pages of settings on a touch screen you're fishing for while driving*

I think the whole idea behind the use of screens is that it's a cheaper way of doing things - it allows you to have the same system in lots of different models in your range without having to have lots of parts, you can change designs more easily too.

Completely agree with you on everything - especially the road safety aspect. Of course, we might just be angry old men? I mean .. I did the commute yesterday (first time in nearly two years ) from Northampton to Heathrow and I lost count of the number of drivers who were texting, scrolling through instagram, watching videos on their phones plus, of course, the "phone on loudspeaker but I'm still holding it" brigade, so I assume "road safety" is just old fashioned and no longer a consideration
