Just back from test driving the new V8 diesel RR

Hi Guys

Just thought i would post a quick note about the new V8 diesel RR i have spent the last hour in.

Went initially to see how it is in comparison to my TDV6 RRS. Boy what a difference!
Although it was a full fat RR, the acceleration, engine volume and responsiveness was extremely impressive. The V8 exhaust tone is rich and able to turn heads when poked. Shocked

That engine + the RRS body = Special car indeed.

Very impressed. If anyone has one on order you will NOT be dissapointed

Very Happy Something else is always something better:

Yeah if anyone does want to order.. let me know and we'll see what discount we can get on our little bulk buy deal..
Have one TDv8 confirmed and deposited, and have thrown in another full fat 4.2 SC at a mere £78k into the mix too, so the order is building up slowly but surely..

2006 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Java Black

I have been lucky enough to drive a 2007 spec TDV8 sport - that is some car although having stepped out of my supercharged there was a difference - but only in the drivers seat - passangers would refuse to believe it was a diesel. The torque was amazing pulling like a train from low down, the faster gear shifts were the only thing giving the engine type away. Whilst it wasn't as fast as the sc it wasn't a long way behind and through a series of bends it felt better balanced, I reckon even with more power the sc would have struggled to stick to it. 20 mpg rather than 13 , residuals that should hold up better, this car is a no brainer. Just getting the petrol out of my viens to make room for diesel.

But then , as I have found out Sad - the residual on our S/C is pathetic - personally I wont be changing mine for a TDV8 just yet. The difference to change could fuel mine for another 10yrs Shocked

My new ETA for a TDV8 HSE is 25 Nov.

BTW Anyone know what wheels come on the TD V8 HSE - presume 19'' 5 spokes? Must ask dealer tomorrow.

No, I believe there's a new design of 20" alloy for the TDV8.

I may be wrong, but seem to remember someone saying that in times gone by.

I drove one about 6 weeks ago that was a LR 06 donkey but I drove another that was 2007 spec a couple of weeks ago, although there is currently no large scale production LR are running a few all badged HSE with 20" rims. A fantastic car but I have one reservation, I drove a pre production supercharged FFRR about 4 months before release and bought on on the strength of it, the production car was nothing compared to the one I had previously driven. To be fair this car appeared the finished article so I guesss they will be as good.

TDV8 HSE Comes with 20" 10 Spokes

Apparently the wheels on the TDV8 are the 20" 10-spoke 'tuning fork' wheels on the current supercharged model.

Yes I think so because the spec quotes 20" 10 spoke alloys which these are and because some of the promo pictures show the car with them on.

I like them. If my TDV6 HSE had come with them on I would never have bought Stormers.

Thanks for finding the photo to illustrate.
