Timing chain

Hi Guys I'm thinking of returning to a RRS but this time I am looking at a 2015 TDV8 was wondering if the timing chain is a life component or needs changing like the TDV6 .......Also I hear these engines are more reliable.....Any help will be appreciated guys before I part with my hard earned

Timing chains are not a service item, they're for life Whistle

Issues with the timing system are usually related to poor servicing or poor quality oil. Over time the plastic guides can become brittle and break apart. When this happens, the chains will become slack and you'll notice it by the change in engine noise.

The system uses 2 chains. One is a double chain and the other is a single chain. I've only ever seen a single chain break. Joe

Looks like the timing chains may need to be replaced. She has 65k on the clock.

Any idea what sort of cost i should expect from an Indy?

Depends if you want oem parts.... i'd budget for around £1500 -£2000. They also might find other issues that could push the bill up.
