United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Java Black
Which model of air compressor - by model and year?

Hi,

Is there an easy way to confirm which type of air compressor is fitted, without having to take it apart to have a look?

I have a 2007 HSE TDV8

Thanks

Jason

Undo the bottom half of the cover, if it's original there will be details stamped on the front cover of the compressor,,,, part numbers etc. I used to have a few pics of mine but must have deleted them, originals are Japanese made I think. The originals are made by Hitachi, but a popular choice if they have been replaced are AMK, which are a different shape. If you research both varieties you will see the difference. 2010 RRS, TDV8
bali Blue / colour coded
side steps / flappy paddles
black perforated leather
22" overfinch
heated everything, TV,fridge ...... now with gold calipers and mud flaps !( black mud flaps that is) !!
Many years ago,,,,, 1955 series 1 landie , sometimes wish I had kept it

If the mounting bracket looks like this picture it is a AMK. The Hitachi bracket is completely different looks like second picture.

Sorry to jump onto this thread but I have a question .

The compressor on mine is an Arnott with brackets the same as first picture it appears to have been fitted around 2018 and would appear to have died .
My question is can I just replace this with an AMK and it would be plug and play .
Cheers

On a 2008 car I think the original compressor would have been a Hitachi, if I remember correctly when these were replaced by the AMK ones there was a fitting kit supplied with it which also included a revised type relay to be fitted and also needed a software update, not sure what was needed to replace the original with a Arnott one though.

Cheers

Cheers I’m just trying to do my homework before it goes into a local indy for a full health check .
I know the suspension has an intermittent fault and I’ve got a leak at the rear poss the anti roll bar or pipes .
So will take it from there
Cheers Davy
