Alarm disarm - multiple fast indicator flashes?

Hi all,

I’ve searched the interweb and read the manual, and I can’t find an answer so hoping folk here can advise.

Recently, I’ve noticed when I disarm / unlock my ‘57 TDV8, instead of a single long indicator flash, I get 8-10 fast flashes.

There’s never any damage I can see on the vehicle so I’m guessing is not an alert to say the alarm was triggered whilst I was out.

But what does the fast flash of indicators (not the red led on the dash) mean please?

Thanks,
Duncan.

that's the only thing I can think of "alarm was triggered whilst I was away"

Bonnet switches are a common problem.
Build into the drivers side latch,

I think people use a paperclip to link the 2 connector pins together, to rule it out, or stop it

Had the same problem with my TDV8 when I bought it a couple of years ago, turned out to be the bonnet switch the alarm was sounding in the car park at work had it reported to me on several occasions, no problems once I had it replaced.

I'd agree with the bonnet catch issue. Easy enough to bodge, easy enough to fix correctly. Thumbs Up 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed
