Oil Light taking around 4 seconds to out when up drive.

When RRS 2.7 tdv6 2009 is parked facing up hill overnight and started in morning oil light goes out after around 4 seconds also rattle from hydraulic tappets till pressure gets up, however when parked facing down hill oil light goes out after 2 seconds with no rattle, never any problems when facing down hill, any idea’s Guys,

make sure you have enough oil in it!

Pick up pipe is at the front . Maybe something drains down more

It could be that your oil pump is worn. When the engine is switched off, oil could be draining back down from the filter housing, through the worn pump and back into the sump. When you start the engine, the pump needs to work for a few seconds to bring the oil pressure back up. That's probably why you are hearing the hydraulic lifters upon start up. Kev
