I would never consider drilling anymore, stickers take such good a grip that they can be a pest to remove so I can't see them letting a plate fall of unless not fitted correctly, i.e. stuck to dirt etc.

Sorry to resurrect such an old thread but I had a quick question re: where the rear number plate sits. I've just taken my plate off to put on my own personal one and was hoping to stick it on rather than drill holes through it, but there appears to be white plastic trim clips fitted which the previous plate was secured through with screws.

Is this standard fitment and can I get the trim clips removed, say with a trim removal tool? I have a box of various types so fairly sure I'll have the tool for the job, just wanted to check before I start forcing anything which might not want to go. The plate won't sit flush with these clips in the way, hence the question.

They are standard fitment if the plate has been screwed on, in-effect they just push into a square hole so you should be able to easily remove them with a fork shape trim removal tool.
