Xenon Headlight Degradation

Hi Guys, Recently found that D2S XENON Car Headlight Bulbs original fitted will degrade over time. This reduces the light output, happens slowly so you don't notice it right away.

After finding this fact out, I removed my genuine Philips D2S bulbs and found the deposits inside were effecting brightness.

Hope this helps with headlight brightness problems with darker night arriving.

That's the video that made me check the lamps on my vehicle. I watch all the LR Time duo's videos. Great inspiration to get hands dirty working on the car. Happiness is driving a RRS

Those deposits are the salts inside the globe that melt and vapourize when the globe gets to full brilliance - i thought they are supposed to be there as without them the globe does not work. When the globe is turned off these vapourized salts solidify and as per your pic. 07MY RRS TDV6

And after first use they will not be. HIDs do loose brilliance with time but not for the reason you allude too. 07MY RRS TDV6
