Those deposits are the salts inside the globe that melt and vapourize when the globe gets to full brilliance - i thought they are supposed to be there as without them the globe does not work. When the globe is turned off these vapourized salts solidify and as per your pic. 07MY RRS TDV6

And after first use they will not be. HIDs do loose brilliance with time but not for the reason you allude too. 07MY RRS TDV6
