Fluid from here: https://www.smithandallan.com/products/tra...over-ace-/
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/252649100035

Part number for the filter is RVJ100010. Plenty of places on the web. For example:

So how do people drain/replenish the ACE fluid?

I watched a video on YouTube on doing it on a Disco 2 using a turkey baster, but the reservoir on a 2010 RRS TDV8 is a LOT smaller than on the old Disco 2, and the cap/opening is a much smaller diameter.

What do you use and how do you do it?

Drain it out with a little 12v pump. Kev

How much do you take out at a time though? And won't that introduce air into the system?

The vid I watched suggested being VERY careful not to introduce air into the system, otherwise it needs to be hooked up to a computer for several hours and cycled through all its settings to purge air from the valves and system.

You can change it from below through disconnecting the lines to the ARBs. That could introduce air into the system and is more of a pain to do on the driveway.

I just drain and refill the reservoir in its entirety over the course of a week or so until the fluid is nice and clean. Kev

No mention of having to use a computer in the manual, you bleed it using the same principle of pressure bleeding a brake system, unfortunately you do need one of these special tools 204-591-02 (£400.00 from L/R so no surprise there then) to open the solenoids to allow the fluid through to the bleed screws, unless you could improvise one without to much difficulty just need to energise the solenoids with live feed to open them. As said not sure it would be very easy without a pit or ramp.

Cheers
Col

I empty the reservoir using a syringe and short length of hose and refill it several times running the engine for several minutes inbetween refills (to circulate fluid) at every engine oil change.

I also change the filter every two years.
