Has anyone done this?

The ARB’s and associated system on my car are really badly corroded and is leaking fluid on my drive. It’s really expensive to replace so I wondered if anyone has replaced them with standard bars. I have the LR part numbers so some markets/ models mustn’t have the hydraulic ones. I assume I wouldn’t have to (or pay the garage) separate the chassis/ body either.

Not another one! Have a search on here and see that it's been raised a few times over the years and is generally thought of as a bad idea.

You'll need to split the body from the chassis to remove the bars.

You think it's expensive to repair - how much do you think the value of the vehicle will be reduced by doing a bodge repair instead? 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Yup! You are right. I’ll have it repaired to specification. It’ll cost a little more than I was hoping but hopefully, it’ll last for another 10 years.

You can source OEM parts which are significantly cheaper than Land Rover's extortionate prices, so that will help keep the bill down a bit. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
