RRS 2010 facelift rear spoiler

Hi.

I have just bought a 2010 RRS SE.

The rear spoiler has suffered the de-lamination problem and so has to have a new rear spoiler.

Q. While I have the spoiler off, can I fit a reversing camera as they have in the HSE? Is the wiring already there and will the display recognise a camera is then fitted???

Any help would be great fully received.

Thanks

Update you profile!

It's worth fitting one while you are there, but it will need enabling with a GAP IID or similar

Thanks.

Do you know if the wiring and connections are already there?

PS. Profile updated.

I don't.

If it's anything like the D4, the wiring is the other side of the tail gate and you need a short adaptor loom

You need to look under the head lining at by the top of the tailgate, if you look at the the two connectors marked if there are wires in pin no's 1 & 15 (co-ax type cable I think as goes to the front touch screen, in plug C0144T and pin's no's 8 black wire (earth) & pin 9 green wire (live) in plug C2739T then you may already have the wiring if no wires in those positions then probably not, you will also need the link wire LR016142 unless you manage to buy a rear spoiler with the camera and lead still attached. The basic wiring circuit is quite simple and straight forward as no control module involved only front screen.

Thanks very much for the info.

Investigation is obviously needed.

Camera upgrade aside, why do you need a replacement spoiler? My one started to delaminate (first noticed as it was causing a rattle when closing the boot lid) but it was a very simple job to remove it and re-bond the two halves together with appropriate adhesive. 2010 TDV8 - current - my first RRS, loving it so far......
2005 Cayenne S - handling defied physics and what a sound, so sod the mpg!
1995 Disco TDI- surprisingly reliable, shame about the peeling dash & other trim
Lots of other non 4X4's in between times.........

Could be apart from the A/B variant there were two different spoilers fitted, one with camera aperture and one without, as the O/P has a SE it may not have the provision in the spoiler for a camera.

Spolier

I have just purchased a replacement spoiler from China.

It has a hole for a reverse camera which my old spoiler had, it was just blanked off.

I have had the vehicle checked and the wiring is there ready for a camera.

Just been in touch with Land Rover and they looked up the vehicle and gave me a price for the camera and bracket. But they wouldn’t give me part numbers which I reall need to try and source it elsewhere as they haven’t got stock.

If anyone can help with these part numbers I would be very grateful.

Top part of the spoiler has been re deployed to somewhere on a motorway.

If you buy a s/h camera from the likes of fleabay make sure it is the one for standard single camera system and not one for the the surround system, easy enough to tell the difference standard one has 2pins the surround one's have 4pins the other thing is you need to ensure you are buying a good camera as some of the early one's could develop a fault and reverse the image the fault being the camera not the car. Unfortunately I don't think you can tell until fitting the camera.
