My car recently reached 10 years of age so I thought I would treat it to a gearbox service. The old one was the integrated filter and pan type; the new one I chose was a Britpart kit with separate pan and filter and it came with 7 litres of Ravenol oil.

The gearbox change is definitely smoother and less clunky. The mechanic said the old oil was really black and gloopy. I think it was money well spent.

Is there anything else that may be worth changing whilst I’m thinking about it?

Depending on how many miles it's done, do the front & rear diff's and the transfer box too.
