Mines a 2015 year but MY16 model and they have a few more toys than the MY15 15 plate cars. Gesture tailgate and automatic passenger access(lowers the car when you pull up)are a couple of things but I’m sure there are more updated items. Mine is also the V6 and 42k on clock with no issues as yet……This is also the best car I have had and have no plan’s to change it yet. This is my2nd RRS and to me there is no better SUV on the market. |

Would that not suggest that this is result of oil leaking somewhere ? How else can you get low oil unless insufficient oil was put in during a service. BMWs when they suffer oil dilution they give a "oil level roo high" message and recommend oil to be drained to correct level. From what I hear its not just range rovers that suffer oil dilution .....do BMWs suffer crank shaft failures or audus or mercs? |

Oil burning would also cause a low oil level. Or it's just not being filled correctly thanks to the silly electronic dipstick that is sadly becoming ubiquitous. There is no oil level warning light, amazingly, only an oil pressure warning.

hi Ash I don't know from where the low oil level is coming. I checked every ca. 1000km the oil level and it was everytime full / nearly full in my MY16 SDV6. I also have given my car on time in service. not everybody is on time and is "stretching" the time and kilometers.. every Diesel car can suffer from oil dilution - it depends of your driving style and the architecture of the engine, exhaust and DPF.. I suppose that a lot BMWs, Audis and Mercs suffer from oil dilution and the most drivers don't care, because they don't know it and German premium cars have 24months service interval or 30'000km distance. during discussions with friends etc. I have seen that ALL are giving the cars in service after 24 months. their argumentation "the manufacturer says so.." IMHO the worst thing what you can do to your engine... If I check the technical specs of the new I6D engines, then I see that JLR has setup the engine with 8.8l oil volume. I suppose to minimize the oil dilution impact (2 decilitre of Diesel in oil are in percentage muss less in a total oil volume of 8.8l then 5.9l ) the new I6D has also a 24 month service interval or a service distance of 34'000km. I will, for sure, do an oil change every 12months or more/less 12'000-15'000km Range Rover Sport HST D350 |

What month 2015 is it John - seen an end of September 2015 (65) plate. Would that be. MY16 do you think? Also, any idea when the MY17 was first seen with the touch pro - just wondering if a 66 plate might have it! |

Mines a 66 MY 17 and has InTouch Pro. I deliberately went for that because the old one is just horrible, ITP still isn't a patch on my old BMW's iDrive. Ferrari F430 Spider F1

Mine was registered July 2015 so one of the first MY16 models. It also takes adblue which is another give away that it’s the MY16. I think there are more options and colours available on the MY16 too like head up display and Zanzibar silver (my colour). All the differences are on this forum somewhere and there are also PDF sales brochures for every year somewhere too so that will tell you all changes/updates for the 15/16 and 17 year models. |
