Suspension Fault C1A20 still!!

L320 TDV8 still getting C1A20 after about 5 or so minutes running, all levels are up & can be left for
days without dropping, On starting with icarsoft plugged in, no light/message compressor running
Data shows pressure building to about 1600Kpa then after the 5 mins light/message on & pressure drops
right down circa 300 Kpa. Suspension all up standard ride height, all levels on dash screen good, with occasionally
rear right a fraction higher. It has been fitted with the AMK Compressor about a year ago. all new air bags at same time.
Waiting hopefully for someone like Disco Mikey to give me a clue to problem?

I would have thought if the compressor is running for 5 minutes,, thats too long and would have suspected a leak or worn compressor but you say you had an AMK unit fitted a year ago. Was it a genuine AMK unit and not a cheap copy?. I would check for leaks,, do you know if the valve blocks were serviced when the compressor was changed? . I rebuilt my compressor some months ago and did the valve blocks as well and found a small amount of residue from the old dessicant in the seals. 2010 RRS, TDV8

Thanks for reply Gogsy, Compressor genuine AMK, vehicle running for about 5 minutes before light comes on, not the compressor running for 5 mins. If the compressor was goosed surely it would not drive at correct levels all of the time?
I do around 100 miles per day, 5 days a week with no problem other than damn light/fault code. Was wondering if
there was a pressure sensor/Reservoir valve that was going bad.
Bet you do wish you had kept your Series 1. I used to buy & sell Series 1s from MOD that were Civil Defence vehicles
that were stored in Nissan Huts, none of them had more than 3000 miles on them, those were the days!
Cheers Pal.

Going back to the begining again, fault code C1A20 is pressure not rising quickly enough or pressure does not decrease when venting gallery. This all points to leaks or blockages in filters etc. What happens if you select access height then go to offload height?. I'm sure the pressure switch on these systems is part of the compressor so would only be as old as the compressor. Main valve block is behind the compressor, always worth a check for leaks and not contaminated with old dessicant.

Aye,, the old landie was some machine,, more than 40 years ago now when I ran it,, pre Internet so a pain trying to find parts a lot of the time. 2010 RRS, TDV8

Get the amk service kit from 4x4airseals.com and buy the valve block rebuild kit at the same time, all in... 65 quid for both items.

Leaking air tank, from the sounds of things

5 mins is about long enough to fill the tank from empty

As usual spot on Mikey, I had, I thought checked everywhere for leaks, but yesterday my Grandson drove
it to Loch Leven, no warning light there & back. However when he parked up at mine, he said he could hear a slight
air leak noise under passenger door, sure enough was coming from inner top side of air tank. It has got side steps fitted & on the Saturday he power washed the under side as we suffer from a lot of mud on the roads around here which gets trapped around the side steps, chassis rails & obviously on top & behind air tank. By removing it with power wash it has made the air leak more obvious! Strange it was the first time light hasn't come on after 5 minutes of running following removal of mud etc.
Oh well, tank to come off & go from there. Thanks to Mikey & all for your input.
