United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Orkney Grey

My old TDV8 was at its most reliable when I was doing 30k a year in it. I put 90k on it in 3 years and it never needed anything other than the expected wear and tear items doing to it.

My SDV6 has been good too although my annual mileage has dropped but I still do 100+ miles a day on a regular basis.

They do like to be driven, that's for sure. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Spain 2011 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Sumatra Black

After one week sitting with one annoyingly Spanish mechanic (even though he's German), nothing was done, but he told me that he thinks it's the turbo.

I took it around the corner to another place who got the code-reader out and it shows:

P006A-00
P1247-00

I asked him to listen to the engine area (as suggested somewhere here) and he believes it's the right side manifold that needs changing. I'm waiting for a quote now, and saying my prayers!!!

Looking at those codes, does anyone think it could be something else?

Thanks again......

I just want to add one thing to you REALLY clever ones out there...

Considering the above errors, do you think any of this could be connected to the small oil leak that I noticed a few months ago?

I'm not tech-savvy enough to link the two, I thought it would be worth asking, although it could be just a huge coincidence.

Thanks YET again.....

This thread discusses those same codes with a number of ideas given. Might be worth a read.

Does anyone think these error messages could be connected to an oil leak that I have had for a while now?

Sorry to answer with another question but an oil leak ask further investigation which is (almost) independent by error codes.
Where is the leak?
There are 6 different types of oil in this vehicle, everyone with its circuit and service, so which one are we talking about?
To return original thread , intake manifolds have my vote (and yes, i do myself)
Sometimes..... mechanics could make their interests and RRS turbos for some workshops are battle horses.
So, if you want to make the turbos (working on both is better) it's your decision but at least ask that the manifolds would be replaced anyway (and pick up dismantling old turbos)

Regards

Hi all,

Just wanted to say thanks for your help. It was the manifold (not the turbo as originally suggested by the German mechanic) and it's now running extremely smoothly.

I have one question: I asked about the oil level issue (I can't get a reading, despite following all instructions) and it showed on his computer that I have 136mm of oil.

Does anyone know if this is ok or low please?

Thanks AGAIN.......
